Job Title: Facilities Technician - Hermon

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: VP or Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


General Job Summary

The Facilities Technician will be responsible for creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees and guests at the Hermon facility. This role will be responsible for maintain the interior and exterior of the building and grounds. There will be some travel to Belfast for groundskeeping and special projects. This role is idea for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values attention to detail, and thrives in a setting where their contributions directly impact the comfort and functionality of the company.


Working Hours

This position has a working day that begins at 5:00 am and ends at 1:30 pm, plus any additional overtime and variability to schedule as necessary.


Essential Job Functions

Interior Maintenance

  • Ensure bathrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and all public areas are clean, stocked, and well-maintained
  • Perform general upkeep tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and touch-ups
  • Support occasional deep cleaning or special projects during off-hours to minimize disruption to the Mill

Exterior Groundskeeping

  • Maintain lawn and landscaping to ensure a tidy, inviting appearance
  • Remove trash and debris from walkways, parking areas, and entrances
  • Salt and clear walkways during winter months to ensure safety

General Duties

  • Monitor facility needs and report issues promptly
  • Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in all areas
  • Collaborate with the Facility Production Manager and VP of Operations

Skills/Experience/Training Required

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience

1-2 years of experience in grounds keeping and operating of such equipment

1-2 years of experience in general upkeep tasks such as painting and minor building repairs


Personal Protective Equipment Required

Safety Glasses

Hearing protection

Gloves

Working Conditions

Spends significant time walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crawling and/or or driving equipment

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; vibration; high noise level

Must regularly lift up to 25lb, occasionally up to 75lb.
