Job Title:

Medical Gas Technician

Job Purpose:

To ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of medical gas systems within a healthcare facility. This includes the installation, inspection, maintenance, and calibration of medical gas delivery systems (such as oxygen, nitrogen, medical air, and nitrous oxide), in accordance with approved technical and healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain medical gas systems according to technical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and functional tests on medical gas equipment and pipeline systems.
• Monitor gas pressure and flow to ensure system performance and safety.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or leaks in medical gas systems.
• Safely handle, refill, and replace gas cylinders as needed, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
• Coordinate with clinical and engineering teams regarding medical gas requirements and maintenance schedules.
• Prepare detailed reports on system status, maintenance activities, and technical issues.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols while performing technical tasks.
• Monitor and report on gas stock levels, and coordinate timely resupply.
• Comply with regulations and standards set by health authorities and technical bodies (e.g., NFPA 99, HTM standards).

Qualifications:

• Diploma or technical certification in Medical Gas Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Technology.
• Preferably holds a valid license or classification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or equivalent regulatory body.
• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in medical gas systems or relevant technical field.
• Solid knowledge of medical gas pipeline systems and relevant safety standards (e.g., NFPA, HTM).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.

Reporting to:

Reports to Head of General Maintenance / Biomedical Engineer / Facilities Manager (depending on organizational structure).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ﷼1,500.00 - ﷼2,500.00 per month
