FF&E Furniture Specialist (Procurement & Estimation)

The FF&E Furniture Specialist is responsible for the planning, specification, procurement, estimation, and coordination of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for interior design and architectural projects. This role involves working closely with design teams, vendors, project managers, and clients to ensure that all FF&E items align with project aesthetics, budget, timelines, and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with interior designers and architects to develop FF&E concepts and selections based on design intent.

Interpret detailed furniture specifications and FF&E schedules provided by design teams.

Research, source, and select furniture, lighting, artwork, accessories, and other FF&E items.

Source, evaluate, and recommend furniture vendors and manufacturers.

Create and maintain detailed FF&E schedules, specifications, and budgets.

Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs and purchase orders, specifically for furniture categories.

Negotiate costs, payment terms, lead times, and logistics with suppliers.

Develop and manage procurement schedules to align with construction and handover milestones.

Manage vendor relationships, including pricing negotiations, lead times, and material submittals.

Monitor budget adherence and identify value-engineering opportunities in furniture procurement.

Coordinate procurement processes: issue purchase orders, track shipments, manage deliveries, and oversee installation.

Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics providers for international/local shipments.

Oversee sample approvals, quality control, and shop drawing reviews for furniture items.

Track furniture order status, shipping, and delivery to site; manage storage if required.

Address and resolve defects, damages, or mismatches in delivered items.

Ensure all FF&E items meet project codes, standards, and sustainability goals.

Conduct site visits to assess FF&E installation and resolve any issues or discrepancies.

Maintain accurate documentation and records throughout the project lifecycle, including furniture inventories.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and emerging suppliers.

Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and site supervisors to ensure installation aligns with project plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

Minimum 5–10+ years of experience in FF&E procurement, estimation, and specification with a significant focus on furniture.

Proven experience in furniture-specific procurement and estimation for FF&E projects.

Strong knowledge of furniture and materials (commercial/residential), including sourcing, quality, and performance standards.

Experience in international sourcing and logistics of furniture items (highly preferred).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp).

Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.

Experience with FF&E budgeting, vendor coordination, and logistics management.

Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Pay: From QAR6,000.00 per month
