The Field Engineering / Projects Superintendent oversees engineering teams and projects, combining technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills. Their role involves managing personnel, budgets, timelines, and ensuring the successful and high-quality completion of projects that align with broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, including recruiting, hiring, and performance management.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive work environment, resolving conflicts and ensuring team productivity.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans, define scopes, objectives, and requirements, and determine equipment and staffing needs.
- Oversee project logistics, coordinate technical activities, and ensure alignment with other departments such procurement , operations.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes.
- Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance:
- Provide technical guidance and support, ensuring the validity and accuracy of methods used by staff.
- Review and approve engineering designs, documentation, and technical specifications.

- Implement and monitor quality control processes and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO), and legal requirements.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Propose, manage, and track project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Manage resource allocation efficiently to optimize the use of human capital and equipment.
- Justify and procure necessary equipment, tooling, and materials for projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven work experience as Lead Engineer / Project Management or similar leadership role ( 5+ years of experience in engineering with several years in management).
- Strong technical knowledge relevant to the specific industry or field.

This role is based in Iraq, on a rotation basis of 6 weeks on/4 weeks off.
