The Field Engineering / Projects Superintendent oversees engineering teams and projects, combining technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills. Their role involves managing personnel, budgets, timelines, and ensuring the successful and high-quality completion of projects that align with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, including recruiting, hiring, and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive work environment, resolving conflicts and ensuring team productivity.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Project Planning & Execution:
  • Develop detailed project plans, define scopes, objectives, and requirements, and determine equipment and staffing needs.
  • Oversee project logistics, coordinate technical activities, and ensure alignment with other departments such procurement , operations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes.
  • Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance:
  • Provide technical guidance and support, ensuring the validity and accuracy of methods used by staff.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, documentation, and technical specifications.

  • Implement and monitor quality control processes and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO), and legal requirements.
  • Budget & Resource Management:
  • Propose, manage, and track project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage resource allocation efficiently to optimize the use of human capital and equipment.
  • Justify and procure necessary equipment, tooling, and materials for projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Proven work experience as Lead Engineer / Project Management or similar leadership role ( 5+ years of experience in engineering with several years in management).
  • Strong technical knowledge relevant to the specific industry or field.
  • Core Competencies:
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven project management capabilities and organizational skills.

This role is based in Iraq, on a rotation basis of 6 weeks on/4 weeks off.
