Field Marketing Executive

Job Purpose

The Field Marketing Executive is responsible for driving merchant acquisition, brand visibility, and on-ground activation of the company's solutions across assigned territories. The role ensures that all field marketing and merchant onboarding activities are conducted in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions.

The position plays a key role in expanding company’s merchant network while maintaining high standards of compliance, transparency, and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Merchant Acquisition & Business Development

  • Identify and approach potential merchants (retail, e-commerce, SMEs, corporate clients) to promote the company’s payment solutions.
  • Conduct on-site visits to explain products including:
  • Online payment gateway
  • POS solutions
  • QR payment solutions
  • Value-added services
  • Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly merchant acquisition targets.
  • Maintain an updated pipeline of prospects and follow up consistently.

2. Product Promotion & Brand Visibility

  • Execute field marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and merchant awareness programs.
  • Distribute marketing materials and ensure proper branding at merchant locations.
  • Represent the company professionally in meetings, trade events, and merchant engagements.
  • Collect competitor intelligence and market feedback to support product positioning.

3. Merchant Onboarding & Documentation

  • Guide merchants through onboarding requirements in line with internal compliance procedures.
  • Ensure accurate collection of required documentation (KYC, trade license, identification documents, bank details, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Compliance and Operations teams to ensure proper verification and approval.
  • Ensure no onboarding occurs without proper authorization and system approval.

4. Regulatory & Governance Compliance

  • Ensure all marketing and onboarding activities comply with:
  • QCB Corporate Governance Guidelines
  • Internal AML/CFT and KYC policies
  • Consumer protection principles
  • Avoid misrepresentation of products, pricing, or regulatory standing.
  • Report any suspicious merchant behavior or documentation irregularities to Compliance/Risk teams.
  • Maintain confidentiality of merchant information and sensitive data.

5. Coordination & Internal Collaboration

  • Coordinate with:
  • Sales team for target tracking
  • Technical Support team for merchant integration assistance
  • Operations team for device deployment and activation
  • Risk & Compliance for onboarding approvals
  • Ensure smooth transition from sales acquisition to technical activation.

6. Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with newly onboarded and existing merchants.
  • Conduct periodic follow-up visits to ensure:
  • Merchant satisfaction
  • Proper product usage
  • Branding compliance
  • Identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.

7. Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Submit daily and weekly activity reports covering:
  • Number of visits conducted
  • Leads generated
  • Applications submitted
  • Conversions achieved
  • Provide monthly performance reports including:
  • Territory performance
  • Market trends
  • Merchant feedback
  • Competitive insights
  • Escalate operational or reputational risks observed in the field.

8. Risk Awareness & Field Controls

  • Ensure strict adherence to approved pricing structures and discount policies.
  • Avoid unauthorized commitments to merchants.
  • Ensure POS devices or marketing materials are properly accounted for.
  • Report any fraud, misrepresentation, or operational control weaknesses identified during field activities.

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field.

Experience

  • 4–6 years of relevant field marketing or sales experience.
  • Experience in banking, fintech, payment services, or financial services is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales or merchant acquisition targets.
