Field Service Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to provide on-site and remote IT support for end users. This role involves handling incidents escalated from the Service Desk, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and coordinating with backline teams to ensure efficient and timely resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and resolve user requests/incidents escalated by the Service Desk or end users.
  • Provide timely updates on incident tickets and communicate resolutions to Level 1 support.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to vendors or L3 teams when required.
  • Deliver telephonic, remote, and desk-side support, including on-site visits for remote locations.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, operating systems, printers, and peripherals.
  • Perform installation, upgrades, de-installation, and repair activities for end-user equipment.
  • Provide onsite support for office automation software, approved business applications, and IT devices such as monitors, scanners, docking stations, classroom, and meeting room equipment.
  • Collaborate with Network, Application, and System Admin teams to provide basic infrastructure and system administration support.
  • Carry out basic network patch cable changes and replace faulty cables as directed by Infrastructure teams.
  • Assist with inventory audits by conducting visual checks and updating tracking sheets for the Asset Management team.
  • Support the implementation of approved changes onsite in coordination with backline teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in IT support, field service, or desktop support.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows OS, hardware, enterprise applications, and IT peripherals.
  • Basic understanding of networking and system administration.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in dynamic environments.
