Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team, dedicated to ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of complex manufacturing equipment across diverse industrial facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge machinery, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver exceptional customer service. As a vital part of our field service team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and technical excellence in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Duties

  • Perform installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ammeters and ohmmeters to identify issues accurately.
  • Operate scissor lifts, forklifts, and other industrial vehicles safely to access equipment at various heights or locations within manufacturing facilities.
  • Manage maintenance records and work orders using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to ensure accurate documentation of all service activities.
  • Collaborate with clients’ technical teams and provide expert advice on system upgrades or modifications, including technical sales support when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to high voltage electrical systems, low voltage controls, HVAC/R systems, and welding operations including <LOCATION> welding standards.
  • Analyze operational data to diagnose problems efficiently and develop effective solutions that minimize production disruptions.
  • Support industrial electrician tasks involving electrical troubleshooting, wiring schematics interpretation, and component replacement.
  • Assist in training clients’ staff on proper operation and maintenance procedures for specialized equipment.

Skills

  • Extensive experience working within manufacturing facilities with a strong understanding of industrial mechanics and maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and control systems used in industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, HVAC/R systems, welding techniques (including <LOCATION> welding), and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and analysis skills for electrical troubleshooting at both low and high voltage levels.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with industrial maintenance procedures across diverse environments.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly in English.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms for work order management and maintenance tracking.
  • Experience working with military-grade equipment or in military environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems quickly and develop practical solutions under pressure in field service settings.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a scissor lift or similar industrial vehicles safely.
