Finance Accounting Manager

Job Summary

The Finance Manager will lead the overall financial operations of the hospital, ensuring stability, sustainability, and full compliance with all regulations. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and manages a team of finance professionals to support the hospital’s financial health.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Budgeting

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, financial plans, and forecasts.
  • Work with department heads to align budgets with hospital goals.
  • Perform variance analysis and highlight improvement areas.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and present financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flows).
  • Analyze financial performance to spot trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Give actionable recommendations to leadership.

3. Revenue Cycle Management

  • Oversee end-to-end revenue cycle functions: registration, billing, collections, denials.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and reimbursements.
  • Improve processes to maximize revenue and reduce bad debt.

4. Cost Management

  • Monitor and control hospital costs.
  • Identify inefficiencies and drive cost-saving strategies.
  • Track and report outcomes of cost reduction initiatives.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to all financial standards and healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with audit and compliance teams.

6. Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance staff.
  • Set performance metrics and conduct evaluations.
  • Build a strong, collaborative, and productive team environment.

Requirements

  • Education: CA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification in Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience: 5–8 years in finance or accounting, preferably within a healthcare organization.
  • Certifications: CPA, CMA, or similar (preferred).
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with financial systems (Epic, Cerner, Excel).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Handling core financial operations: AP, AR, and payroll.
  • Developing and enforcing financial policies and procedures.
  • Working with other departments to support hospital-wide goals.
  • Participating in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.
