Finance & Accounting Specialist Position- Near Monroe, GA

Duties

  • Manage corporate accounting processes including general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and financial statement preparation.
  • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements and ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
  • Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and financial report interpretation to support strategic planning.
  • Maintain expertise in non-profit accounting practices such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and governmental accounting standards.
  • Support internal audits and assist with external auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and insights.
  • Mentor junior team members on technical accounting procedures, fostering professional growth within the department.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is highly valued.
  • Expertise in financial concepts including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with tax regulations and tax experience related to corporate finance or nonprofit sectors.
  • Familiarity with securities law, wills/trusts & estate law is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bank reconciliation and general ledger management.
  • Strong communication skills for effective financial report presentation and mentoring responsibilities.
