Finance Controller

Key Responsibilities

· Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; deliver variance analysis and performance reporting; analyze costs, margins, and cash flow; create financial models to support strategic planning.

· Financial Planning & Control: Direct budgeting and forecasting; oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management; design and implement financial policies and internal control frameworks; optimize working capital and cash flow.

· Strategic Partnership: Partner with Managing Director and senior leadership translating financial insights into strategic recommendations; evaluate business cases and capital expenditure proposals; develop performance metrics and KPIs aligned with business strategy.

· Leadership & Team Development: Lead and develop a high-performing finance team; provide coaching, feedback, and skill development; establish a culture of excellence and integrity; ensure effective communication across business functions.

· Compliance, Tax & Governance: Ensure organizational compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards; oversee tax return preparation and filing; maintain robust internal control systems; support internal and external audit processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline; CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred.

· Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive gulf finance or accounting experience; at least 3 years in a supervisory, controller, or senior finance leadership position; proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting; experience managing and developing a finance team; solid tax & compliance background.

Essential Skills & Competencies.

· Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of GAAP/IFRS standards, financial reporting principles, and financial modeling; strong attention to detail; ability to translate complex financial information for senior stakeholders.

· Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong capability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop data-driven recommendations; excellent critical thinking and judgment.

· Strategic Thinking: Align financial strategy with business objectives; balance risk assessment with opportunity evaluation; proven experience in business strategy development.

· Leadership & People Management: Demonstrated track record of building and developing effective finance teams; strong coaching and mentoring capabilities; excellent stakeholder management; ability to inspire accountability.

· Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences; proficiency in communicating with C-suite and operational leadership.

· Organizational & Project Management: Excellent planning, prioritization, and time management; proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.

· Systems & Technology: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar); expert-level Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with BI tools and financial analytics software.

· Tax & Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of tax laws and financial regulations; knowledge of best practices in internal controls and audit; commitment to ethical financial practices.
