Part time Opportunity (15 hours/week)
Pathway Talent Partners is leading the search for a successful Nonprofit organization in Edina looking for a Director of Finance. The Finance Director is responsible for the financial well-being and management of the organization. This includes managing and maintaining accurate financial records, leading the monthly close process and overseeing the annual budgeting process. This is a flexible, part-time position averaging 10-15 hours per week.
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including recording daily transactions and maintaining the general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Process monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely employee payments; calculate wages, deductions, benefits, and payroll taxes in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and handle employee updates, including new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
- Reconcile bank and payroll accounts monthly, resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting. Generate monthly financial statements and reports for review by the Treasurer.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director and Club Director, lead the annual budgeting process. Provide the Board of Directors quarterly financial updates on budget versus actuals.
- Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process from planning through completion; prepare and organize financial records, schedules and supporting documentation for auditors.
- Manage company insurance policies, including general liability, workers’ compensation, and D&O coverage; coordinate policy renewals, ensuring continuous and adequate coverage.
- On an annual basis, issue 1099 forms to independent contractors, ensuring IRS compliance and timely filing.
- Manage the financial aid process, including application review, eligibility determination, and award distribution.
- Analyze program costs, participation levels, and market trends to establish competitive and sustainable pricing.
- Administer fee setup and registration processes within PlayMetrics, ensuring accuracy and a seamless user experience.
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 5+ years of experience
- Extensive experience with Microsoft 365
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with others across teams
