KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Financial Record-Keeping & Accounting
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and complete financial records in accordance with ITA's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and donor guidelines.
- Post all financial transactions — including vouchers, receipts, payments, and journal entries — into the accounting software in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain and update the day book on a daily basis, ensuring cash-in-hand balances are reconciled with the ledger at all times.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and submit to the Head Office finance team.
- Maintain computerized records of all financial data with regular backups to safeguard data integrity.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly project-wise financial forecasts and submit to the Head of Department for funds disbursement planning.
- Provide regular analysis of income and expenditure to senior managers, highlighting variances and proposing corrective actions.
- Support the preparation of high-quality financial reports for donors and management within prescribed timelines and formats.
- Assist programme staff in the preparation of project budgets, budget revisions, and financial forecasts.
- Coordinate with donors on financial reporting requirements and all related financial matters.
Grants Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all grant agreement financial requirements, including allowable costs, procurement thresholds, and reporting deadlines.
- Review procurement documentation against prevailing SOPs and donor guidelines prior to disbursement of payments.
- Monitor grant expenditure against approved budgets and flag potential over- or under-spending to the line manager.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset and inventory records, reconciling periodically.
- Coordinate with Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) and other partners on subsidy tracking and financial reporting.
Internal Controls & Audit
- Ensure that all standard operating procedures and appropriate internal controls are consistently implemented to minimize fraud and error.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during organizational and project audits, providing required documentation and explanations.
- Support implementation of audit recommendations and corrective action plans.
- Liaise with banks to trace funds and provide documentation required for bank account functionality.
Team Coordination
- Supervise finance support staff and provide guidance to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
- Maintain effective communication with programme, administration, and field teams on financial matters.
- Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA/CA part-qualified) preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial management within an NGO, development organization, or donor-funded project.
- Demonstrated knowledge of donor financial reporting requirements (WFP, UNICEF, USAID, FCDO, or similar).
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Urdu; Sindhi language skills an advantage.
Pay: Rs120,000.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month
