We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of our restaurant business. The ideal candidate will manage budgets, financial reporting, cost controls, and ensure compliance with accounting standards while supporting business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial operations of the restaurant group.
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, and budgeting processes.
- Monitor food & beverage cost controls, inventory management, and wastage analysis.
- Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, taxation, and audits.
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and HR to align financial goals with business needs.
- Forecast revenues, expenses, and profitability trends for effective planning.
- Prepare financial models for expansion, investment, or new outlets.
- Lead and mentor accounting/finance team members.
- Collect and verify vendor invoices against purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes.
- Check for accuracy in quantity, price, taxes, and terms.
- Ensure invoices are approved by the respective department (kitchen, procurement, or operations) before payment.
- Follow the company’s payment authorization matrix.
- Maintain a vendor payment calendar (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly).
- Prioritize payments based on due dates, credit terms, and vendor relationships.
- Process payments via bank transfer, cheque, or digital platforms as per company policy.
- Ensure proper recording of TDS/GST deductions wherever applicable.
- Reconcile vendor accounts regularly to avoid discrepancies.
- Maintain records of payments made and pending balances.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and resolve disputes.
- Negotiate better credit terms and discounts to optimize cash flow.
- Prepare vendor payment reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with taxation, statutory payments, and audit requirements.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the restaurant/outlets.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Provide management with accurate and timely financial reports.
- Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs to control expenses.
- Track inventory, wastage, and vendor payments to minimize losses.
- Analyze profit margins, menu pricing, and sales mix for profitability.
- Manage daily cash flow, banking transactions, and reconciliations.
- Ensure adequate working capital for smooth restaurant operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation laws, and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits.
- Supervise accounts/finance staff and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
- Work closely with operations, HR, and procurement teams to align finances with business needs.
- Prepare financial models and feasibility reports for new outlets or expansion plans.
- Support management in strategic decision-making with financial insights.
- Implement financial policies, internal controls, and accounting systems.
- Introduce best practices to improve efficiency in finance operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CA/CPA/CMA preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in the restaurant/F&B/hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant P&L management, cost control, and inventory systems.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, ERP) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of local taxation, compliance, and financial regulations.
