Finance Manager

St. James is looking to expand our Finance team! We are seeking a Finance Manager to support the department’s continued growth. The role is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with organizational goals.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Oversight of managing accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger transactions. Maintain accurate cash management, credit card(s) reconciliation, and procurement. Assisting with monthly close, restricted grants and audit-ready records. Support with budget tracking and provide department-level financial data as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting (preferred), Finance or Business Administration required
  • 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience and demonstrated proficiency in general ledger and AP/AR required
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with Quickbooks and other accounting based software a plus
  • Detail-oriented person who anticipates the next step
  • Ability to collaborate and partner across an organization
  • Strong school or nonprofit experience preferred
  • Passionate dedication to the St. James mission

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Regularly works in standard office conditions and climate
  • Regularly uses close and distance vision, including working at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Frequently required to move around the office; works at a desk for extended periods of time; occasionally moves around campus
  • Ability to occasionally move items weighing up to 30 lbs. across the office or campus
  • Ability to regularly work flexible hours to support the team members with emergent and urgent items and to meet deadlines; position will require some non-traditional work hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
