Finance Manager (Founding team)

About Open

Open.cx is the unified AI customer support platform automating 70%+ of interactions for enterprises like MoneyGram and Mollie. Backed by Y Combinator, X by Unifonic, and Shorooq Partners, we recently raised $7M+ to scale our operations across MENA and globally. We are moving from a startup phase to a high-growth scale-up, and we need a financial architect to build the foundation for that growth.

About The Role

Open.cx is building a world-class financial engine — and we're missing a very specific type of person. The Founding Finance Lead who operates like a strategic partner to the founders, not just a bookkeeper.

Your Mandate

  • Work horizontally across operations, sales, and executive leadership to secure our financial future
  • Understand how money actually moves through a global AI company (multi-entity, multi-currency)
  • Design and ship internal financial controls, reporting systems, and treasury strategies that 10× our capital efficiency
  • Use modern fintech stacks and automation to turn messy financial data into clean, strategic insights

If you're successful, you'll materially influence Open's runway and play a central role in how we deploy our $8M+ in capital.

What You'll Do

Our recent raise has generated an enormous amount of potential — capital to deploy, new enterprise customers to bill, and global teams to pay. Today, we need to transition from "startup chaos" to "audit-ready precision."

Your first major mission is to turn our financial operations into a structured, compounding system that ensures we get paid on time, our vendors are managed, and our treasury is yielding maximum returns.

Over Time, You'll Expand Your Scope Across

  • Strategic fundraising and Series B preparation
  • Global tax strategy and entity structuring (UAE, KSA, US)
  • Unit economics optimization (CAC, LTV, Gross Margin)
  • Investor relations and board reporting

Your focus: ensure Open operates with the financial discipline of a public company, with the agility of a startup.

The Requirements

  • Tech & SaaS DNA is a must. You have specific experience working for a technology-based business model. You understand the mechanics of a digital economy—recurring revenue (SaaS), cloud infrastructure costs (COGS), and the pace of a high-growth tech company
  • Online Payment Literacy. You are fluent in the "plumbing" of online payments. You have managed finances for businesses where customers pay online, and you understand how to reconcile data from payment gateways (like Stripe or Paddle) against bank deposits
  • Digital-First Operations. You are comfortable operating in a paperless environment, managing invoices, receipts, and approvals entirely through digital workflows and software

Examples Of What You'll Own

  • Full lifecycle ownership of the "Financial Stack" From selection → implementation → adoption → optimization. You will decide whether we build an in-house team or manage an outsourced firm, and you will own the ERP/Accounting stack (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Ramp)
  • Treasury & Capital Management You will strategically manage our cash position. You won't just leave it in a checking account; you will select and manage 3-4 low-risk funds to optimize yield while ensuring liquidity for burn
  • Building the "Revenue Engine" (AR & AP) Design systems that ingest contracts and POs and turn them into cash
    • Manage complex enterprise invoicing for clients like MoneyGram
    • Oversee AP and run global payments for contractors and employees
    • Ensure we collect every dollar owed to us on time
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Prototype, Instrument, And Measure our financial health
    • Build our monthly budgeting and cash flow planning models
    • Track burn rate and extend our runway through smart capital allocation
What Makes Us Excited About You

You're a first principles thinker who loves to build. You see chaos — unorganized invoices, silent vendors, undefined budgets — and your brain instantly starts drawing boxes and arrows to fix it.

You're obsessed with modern tools. You experiment with new fintech platforms (Mercury, Brex, Deel) and AI-driven accounting tools because you want to automate the manual work, not because you were told to.

You're fluent in data and comfortable being scrappy. Pulling data from bank feeds, Stripe, CRM, and spreadsheets doesn't intimidate you. You can shape raw financial data into a Board Deck that founders can actually use.

You Care About Outcomes, Not Output. You want to move real numbers — runway months, yield on cash, collection times, gross margin. You're comfortable designing the metric and proving impact.

You're a cross-functional glue. You can sit with a Sales Rep to fix a contract, an Engineer to approve a tool, and a Founder to plan the budget, translating their needs into financial reality.
