Finance -Operations Executive (Shipping Background)

Key Responsibilities / Job Duties

Description

1. Assist in the preparation and review of Proforma Disbursement Accounts (PDAs) and Final Disbursement Accounts (FDAs) received from port agents.

2. Ensure timely submission of DAs to relevant stakeholders, including clients, charterers, and internal departments

3. Verify invoices and supporting documents related to port calls for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual terms.

4. Coordinate with port agents, operations team, and vendors to resolve queries and discrepancies in DAs.

5. Update and maintain the DA tracking system with relevant data, including port call details, cost breakdown, and payment statuses.

6. Assist in internal audits, compliance checks, and documentation for regulatory or customer reporting

7. Maintain proper filing of all DA-related financial documents in accordance with company policies.

8. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in DA processing.

Internal Contacts:

Management finance hubs, IT, financial department, S5 regional hubs, client managers, S5 management

External Contacts:

Customers, Ship management, port authorities/vendors, suppliers, sub-agents, charterer’s agents

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

Description

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.

2. 2-4 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (experience in shipping or logistics industry is a plus).

3. Basic understanding of Disbursement Accounts and vessel operations preferred.

4. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

5. Proficient in MS Excel and other standard financial software.

6. Good communication and coordination skills.

7. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
