About The Role!

The Financial Accountant position involves managing an organization's financial transactions, records, and reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and support for business decisions. This role focuses on maintaining ledgers, preparing financial statements, and analyzing variances to optimize financial health. In a dynamic environment like loan portfolio management, it emphasizes tracking payments, reconciliations, and regulatory adherence using tools such as Excel and accounting software.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly loan repayment schedules to identify overdue accounts
• Conduct collection follow-ups through phone calls
• Negotiate repayment arrangements and provide guidance to clients on settling outstanding balances
• Maintain updated and accurate records of client contact, promises to pay, and payment outcomes
• Escalate difficult or high-risk cases and recommend appropriate legal or policy action when necessary
• Educate clients on financial discipline, repayment obligations, and the impact of late payments
  
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Good understanding of microfinance lending principles and credit assessment
• Very Good in MS Office (Excel, Word)
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer-service orientation
• 1–3 years of experience in loan collections, credit control, microfinance, banking, or related roles
