FINANCIAL AID ADVISOR
SUMMARY
The Financial Aid Advisor (FAA) performs administrative work directly related to the administration of financial aid programs. The FAA coordinates and executes state, federal and institutional financial aid programs in an ethical, expeditious and efficient manner, to provide the greatest possible benefit to both the student and college. Duties are performed in a customer environment requiring independent judgment and decision making.

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The employee must be able to:

This position may require occasional travel to other campus locations, or off-site work-related locations or campus events.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, salaried position. The standard work week is Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION and PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
A Baccalaureate degree (or higher) in Business Administration or related field is preferred. This individual needs to have good interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively in a customer environment. A combination of related experience and education may be acceptable should the incumbent not hold a baccalaureate degree. This position requires that the incumbent maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with students.
If the incumbent has student federal loans (Title IV): The incumbent must maintain all their student federal loans in good standing (no delinquencies or defaults). Failure to do so may result in restricted access to resources essential to conducting job responsibilities and may result in disciplinary action up to termination of employment with the college.
