Financial Controller/Office Manager- part time

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented *Financial Controller* to oversee our organization’s financial operations. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective financial management. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in accounting principles, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting within diverse sectors including non-profit, governmental, and corporate environments. The Financial Controller will lead the accounting team, manage financial systems, and support strategic decision-making through comprehensive financial insights.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage cash flow, cash management strategies, and forecasting to optimize liquidity.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes while maintaining accuracy in account reconciliation and double entry bookkeeping.
  • Implement and maintain accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial management tools.
  • Conduct financial analysis and account analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost control or revenue enhancement.
  • Develop budgets in collaboration with senior management; monitor budget adherence throughout the fiscal year.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role with a strong background in *accounting*, *financial management*, and *financial report writing*.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as *QuickBooks*, *Sage*, *Xero*, or equivalent platforms; experience with *financial software* is essential.
  • Strong understanding of *cash management*, *budgeting*, *forecasting*, and *financial concepts*.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred but not mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial health of our organization through strategic oversight and expert financial stewardship.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 15 per week
