Finishing Carpenter

The Finishing Carpenter is responsible to perform high-quality finishing carpentry works—including installation, repair, and restoration of woodwork, cabinetry, doors, wall panels, decorative moldings, and luxury furnishings—within the estate’s villas, guesthouses, and private areas. The Finishing Carpenter ensures all work reflects the estate’s luxury standards, precision, and attention to aesthetic detail while maintaining functionality and durability.

JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical Certificate or Diploma in Carpentry, Woodworking, or Construction Craftsmanship.
• Trade certification in finishing carpentry or furniture making (preferred).
• Basic HSE (Health & Safety) awareness training or certification (advantageous).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior drawings.
• Familiarity with UAE material standards and fit-out practices.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience as a finishing carpenter, preferably in luxury residential, hospitality, or high-end villa/estate settings in the UAE or GCC.
• Experience in working with premium woods, custom furniture, wall cladding, ceiling panels, and detailed trims.
• Background in on-site installation, fine joinery, and restoration of existing woodwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Precision Woodwork & Finishing

• Installation and finishing of doors, cabinets, wardrobes, vanities, wall panels, wooden ceilings, and decorative moldings.
• Ensuring smooth finishes, proper alignment, and detailing using sanding, staining, lacquering, or painting techniques.
• Ability to repair, refurbish, and restore aging or damaged wooden items while maintaining design continuity.

Tools & Machinery Proficiency

• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, cutting machines, routers, sanders, and planers.
• Safe operation and maintenance of carpentry workshop tools and mobile tool kits.
• Understanding of tool safety, PPE use, and job site housekeeping.

Reading Drawings & Measurements

• Interpreting technical drawings, design sketches, and layout plans accurately.
• Taking site measurements and marking up drawings for custom fabrication and installation.
• Coordinating with designers or supervisors for modifications and design clarity.

Material Knowledge

• Working with various high-quality materials like solid wood, plywood, MDF, veneer, and laminates.
• Selecting the correct adhesives, nails, screws, and joinery methods for each application.
• wareness of moisture resistance, finishing techniques, and upholstery coordination.

Attention to Detail & Finishing Quality

• Delivering flawless finishes with high attention to visual and tactile quality.
• Understanding the expectations of VIP environments where quality and discretion are paramount.
• Checking for fine details, smooth operation (hinges, drawers, doors), and overall visual impact.

Collaboration & Site Coordination

• Working closely with interior designers, engineers, and other trades during villa fit-out or renovation.
• Ensuring clean, organized, and discreet work within private or occupied estate spaces.
• Flexibility to respond to urgent repairs, seasonal upgrades, or last-minute design changes.
