Fire Fighting Technician – Job Description

The Fire Fighting Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems in accordance with approved drawings, NFPA standards, and local Civil Defense regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Install fire fighting systems including sprinklers, hose reels, fire pumps, hydrants, and foam systems.

Read and interpret approved shop drawings and specifications.

Perform testing, flushing, hydrostatic tests, and system commissioning.

Maintain and troubleshoot fire fighting equipment and piping networks.

Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades on-site.

Ensure all works comply with Civil Defense, NFPA, and safety standards.

Prepare daily work reports and assist during inspections and approvals.

Follow site safety procedures and use PPE at all times.

Requirements

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field.

Minimum 2–5 years experience in fire fighting systems (UAE/GCC preferred).

Knowledge of NFPA codes and Civil Defense requirements.

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Physically fit and able to work on construction sites.
