Overview:
The Flight Approval Coordinator is responsible for the initial risk and feasibility assessment of all new flights as well as changes to existing flights. Reporting to the Head of OCC and working closely with the Duty Managers (DMs) and Flight Ops Management (FOMOD) he/she also contributes to ensuring that the fleet is optimized for a safe and economically efficient operation.
Flight Feasibility

Operational feasibility and approval of all new flight bookings as well as all changes to existing flight bookings according to:
- Flight planning and optimum flight path evaluation including runway performance analysis
- All relevant international and national regulations (e.g., operating hours, NOTAMs, aircraft availability)
- Crew availability and duty/rest regulations
- (to be further approved by the Crew Scheduling Team)
- Coordinating further steps with Crew Scheduling, MXC, FOM and Sales, RM, AM/CS Teams if necessary to facilitate the feasibility of each trip.
- Continuous communication with Sales, RM, AM/CS to provide options for new trip requests and trip change requests based on aircraft and crew availability.
- In conjunction with the Duty Manager, continual optimization of the schedule to maximize utilization and availability.
Business Continuity and Administration

In coordination with the Safety Department, FOM, DO, DM and/or appropriate OCC Teams - ensuring that crews, customers, and aircraft are safe at all times by keeping a constant overview of security, restrictions, and hazardous situations around the Globe.
- This involves running and monitoring security assessments and escalating any potential issues, when applicable.
- Working in Cooperation with the Data Management Team to always maintain the airport databases in Global View up to date.
- Monitor the FACT mailbox and act swiftly to provide answers to quote or operational feasibility related requests.

Travel required:
Limited travel (<5%) may be requested to visit other locations throughout the organization.
Required education, skills and experience:
- 3 years’ experience within Commercial Aviation Operations environment in at least one of the following or a combination thereof:

Flight Dispatch;
- International trip planning;
- Crew Scheduling
- Entrepreneurial skills with professional attitude & a strong business acumen
- Team player, pro-active, service driven and out of the box thinking.
- Able to work accurately and independently.
- Strong love to detail combined with excellent communication skills is a must.
- High customer/service orientation with cross cultural understanding.
- Worldwide Flight and/or Ground Operations Experience

Proficient with computer systems including MS Office Suite.
- Must have flexibility to work a variety of shifts including overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.
Beneficial skills and experience:
- Aviation related studies and/or degree

Experience within a Business Aviation (Part135) Operations environment

Flight Dispatch License or Commercial Pilot License

Experience with any of the mainstream Computerized Flight Planning Software

Customer Service or Sales or Commercial-related role experience with ability to balance cost vs utilization of the fleet.
