Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Food Development Manager to lead the innovation and development of new food products within our FMCG/packaged foods portfolio. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in food science with strong market insight to develop products that are innovative, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with consumer preferences and brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire new product development (NPD) process — from concept creation, formulation, and trials to pilot and commercial production.
  • Research emerging food trends, ingredients, and technologies to drive innovation and product differentiation.
  • Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Develop and maintain detailed product formulations, technical specifications, and process sheets.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations, shelf-life testing, and nutritional analysis to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Ensure all products comply with FSSAI and other relevant food safety and labeling regulations.
  • Identify and manage vendors and suppliers for ingredients, packaging materials, and process innovations.
  • Continuously improve existing formulations to enhance taste, texture, nutrition, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee packaging development in alignment with product stability and marketing requirements.
  • Provide technical support during scale-up and commercialization at manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in product development within the FMCG or packaged food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food processing techniques, ingredient functionality, and quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of FSSAI regulations, labeling, and documentation standards.
  • Proven track record of successful new product launches in snacks, ready-to-eat, bakery, or convenience foods.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,700,000.00 per year
