We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Food Technologist with hands-on experience in the formulation, processing, and quality control of jams, sauces, and preserved food products. The ideal candidate should understand both the technical and regulatory aspects of food manufacturing in the Pakistani market and have the creativity to contribute to product innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development:
- Formulate and develop new products in the jams, sauces, and spreads category.
- Modify and improve existing recipes based on market feedback and production feasibility.
- Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale trials, followed by commercial scale-up.
Process Optimization:
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Select appropriate raw materials and packaging suited to local market conditions.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality parameters for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
- Ensure adherence to local and international food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., PSQCA, ISO, HACCP).
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all products meet Pakistan food regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for product approvals and audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, procurement, and marketing teams to align product development with business goals.
- Liaise with suppliers for ingredient sourcing and trials.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- BSc / MSc in Food Technology, Food Science, or related discipline from a recognized university.
- Experience:
- 2–5 years in a similar role within the food processing industry.
- Direct experience in jams, sauces, ketchup, chutneys, or condiments is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food preservation techniques, pH balancing, viscosity control, and thermal processing.
- Familiar with food safety systems such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000.
- Soft Skills:
- Attention to detail, problem-solving attitude, and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with shelf-life testing and sensory evaluation.
- Exposure to automation in sauce/jam filling lines is a plus.
- Familiarity with consumer trends in the Pakistani condiments market.
