Position Summary

The Food Truck Manager oversees all operations for a Burger Co. food truck and trailer ensuring every event runs smoothly, every customer gets what they ordered, and every detail reflects the company standard. This role coordinates event logistics, manages staff scheduling, oversees truck and trailer maintenance, and ensures compliance with all operational, safety, and health requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and thrives in a fast-moving, event-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

Event Operations & Coordination

  • Confirm all food orders are accurately placed, packed, and ready for scheduled events.
  • Coordinate with the Event Coordinator to ensure each customer receives everything ordered and expectations are met.
  • Verify staffing for all events and ensure coverage aligns with operational needs.
  • Oversee on-site setup, execution, and breakdown for food truck and trailer events.
  • Communicate event details clearly to staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide post-event reports to the Deals/Sales Team, confirming all billing is accurate and completed correctly on-site.
  • Conduct follow-ups with the Sales and Events teams to clarify any outstanding details or discrepancies after events.

Truck & Trailer Management

  • Ensure the food truck and trailer are cleaned, organized, and fully stocked for every event.
  • Maintain propane, gas, and diesel levels; ensure grease is changed regularly and waste is disposed of properly.
  • Oversee regular maintenance for the truck and trailer, including mechanical servicing, oil changes, and repairs.
  • Track which vehicle will tow the trailer for each event and ensure both are safe and compliant.
  • Maintain a maintenance log for all service and upkeep performed on vehicles and equipment.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all truck, trailer, and equipment permits, licenses, and insurance policies remain current.
  • Verify that all employee certifications (e.g., food handler cards, driver’s licenses) are valid and filed.
  • Uphold all safety standards for food handling, equipment use, and transportation.

Inventory & Supplies

  • Maintain and track inventory for the food truck and trailer; restock and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Communicate supply needs to the kitchen and operations team in advance.
  • Ensure proper storage and transport of all ingredients and products.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
  • Report daily to the IB Manager/Chef for on-site oversight and operational updates.
  • Provide weekly operational summaries, maintenance updates, and event recaps to the VP of Operations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Deals, Sales, and Events teams to ensure all financial, logistical, and service aspects are aligned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in restaurant, catering, or food truck management.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in event logistics, scheduling, and staff coordination.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record; mechanical knowledge a plus.
  • Understanding of food safety, vehicle maintenance, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
