Forecast Analyst

Job Title: Forecast Planning Analyst

Location: South Elgin, IL

Salary: $60,000-$75,000

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Forecast Planning Analyst to join our client's organization in the South Elgin, IL area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, analyze, and maintain demand forecasts to support supply chain, inventory, and production planning.
• Analyze historical data, trends, and business inputs to improve forecast accuracy and reduce variability.
• Select and maintain appropriate forecasting models using scenario analysis and available planning tools.
• Facilitate forecast review and consensus meetings with cross‑functional stakeholders such as sales, operations, purchasing, and logistics.
• Monitor forecast performance and recommend adjustments to align with changing business conditions.
• Support inventory optimization efforts by identifying risks related to stockouts, excess inventory, or demand volatility.
• Create and maintain forecasting processes, procedures, and work instructions to improve planning efficiency.
• Provide data analysis, reporting, and insights to support decision‑making and special projects.
• Identify process improvement opportunities that drive cost savings, service‑level improvements, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment between demand plans, supply plans, and business objectives.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in forecasting, demand planning, supply chain analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Working knowledge of demand forecasting methodologies, including statistical and collaborative approaches.
• Proficiency with ERP and planning systems and familiarity with MRP or inventory planning modules.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
• Experience using forecasting, statistical, or data analysis tools is a plus.
• Understanding of supply chain and financial principles related to inventory, planning, and cost optimization.
• Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.
• Highly organized, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
