Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end freight brokerage operations, including quoting, booking, and tracking shipments across various transportation modes.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with clients and carriers through effective account management and B2B sales strategies.
  • Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, and AS400 platforms to streamline data entry, dispatching, and communication processes.
  • Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
  • Coordinate logistics planning by analyzing supply chain requirements, optimizing transportation routes, and ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and other industry standards.
  • Generate leads through proactive outreach and lead generation techniques to expand the customer base.
  • Handle carrier sales activities such as dispatching, freight quoting, pricing adjustments, and capacity management within 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) frameworks or NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, contracts, pricing agreements, and compliance documentation to support audit readiness and operational transparency.
  • Support inside sales efforts by providing exceptional customer service, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the transportation process.

Experience

  • Proven experience in supply chain management or transportation management roles with a focus on freight brokerage or logistics sales.
  • Strong background in B2B sales, account management, and customer relationship management within the logistics or freight industry.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), CRM software (such as Salesforce), EDI protocols, AS400 systems, and other logistics technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding practices including 3PL services, NVOCC operations, carrier negotiations, dispatching procedures, and transportation planning.
  • Experience handling contracts related to freight services and pricing negotiations to maximize profitability while maintaining service excellence.
  • Ability to navigate complex logistics scenarios involving FDA regulations or other industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation skills combined with strong data entry accuracy for dispatching and documentation purposes.

Pay: $59,680.88 - $71,873.75 per year
