Monday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM
The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting Magnum operations under the Regional Manager's direction. The primary purpose is to organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance.
- Coordinate the utilization of drivers, trucks, and equipment to create capacity, maximize productivity, and ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all customers.
- Communicate with and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations according to customer needs.
- Enter accurate and complete load information into Magnum’s computer system.
- Review and audit driver logs to verify items shipped by matching bills of lading, reconciling quantities, noting discrepancies, and monitoring errors, missing information, or violations.
- Ensure compliance with hours of service and other FMCSA regulations as well as company policies.
- Enter and audit driver payroll.
- Participate in Operational and Safety meetings.
- Submit all necessary paperwork to the Billing Department for accurate billing of customers.
- Promptly communicate any delays, issues, or concerns regarding customer loads/requests.
- Appropriate use of progressive discipline, providing constructive feedback to employees.
- Assist with projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in an environment where priorities and load schedules are constantly changing.
- High level of interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with drivers and customers.
- Knowledge of business processes, transportation, and dispatch terminology.
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.

- Geographical knowledge of the assigned metro area and the Midwest.
- Familiarity with CSA principles and FMCSA regulations.
- Goal-oriented and able to set and achieve company or personal objectives.
- Ability to be on-call one weekend per month.
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree or higher.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry (preferred).
- Prior experience in Truckload, Local, Intermodal, Cartage, and/or Broker capacity.
- Truckmate (TMW) and TMW Suite software experience (preferred).
