Detail-oriented and organized Front Desk & Medical Records Clerk with experience managing patient records, supporting front office operations, and ensuring accurate and confidential documentation. Skilled in handling high call volumes, verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, and maintaining both electronic (EMR/EHR) and paper-based medical files. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managed high call volumes, including answering incoming calls, texts, and returning patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Verified patient insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate billing and coverage.
  • Collected patient payments, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance at check-in and check-out.
  • Updated and maintained patient demographic information, insurance details, and scanned ID/insurance cards into the system.
  • Prepared, organized, and maintained patient charts in both electronic (EMR/EHR) and paper formats.
  • Scheduled patient appointments, including routine checkups, lab results, and annual visits.
  • Assisted with front desk operations, including patient check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Maintained and retrieved patient records for scheduled appointments and provider requests.
  • Processed medical record requests, including preparing documentation, letters, and reports in accordance with office procedures.
  • Managed incoming and outgoing faxes, emails, and correspondence related to patient care and medical records.
  • Photocopied and distributed documents for billing, legal, and administrative purposes.
  • Ensured accuracy of patient information while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitored office supplies and reported shortages or needs to the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications and typing skills
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Preferably bi-lingual. Fluency in English and Spanish desirable in order to communicate effectively with patients.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
