The Front Desk Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support within the orthopedic practice. This individual will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, greeting and assisting patients, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth communication between patients, medical staff, and other team members. Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction: Warmly welcome patients and visitors to the orthopedic practice.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and directing patients to the appropriate departments.
Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details.

Appointment Scheduling: Efficiently schedule patient appointments using EPIC or other relevant scheduling systems.
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure optimal scheduling and minimize patient wait times.

Check-In and Check-Out: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy in patient records.
Collect co-payments and process payments, adhering to established financial procedures.

EPIC Utilization: Utilize EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system for patient registration, scheduling, and other relevant tasks.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date entry of patient information into EPIC.

Communication: Maintain effective communication with medical staff, nurses, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
Relay important messages to patients, physicians, and other staff members.

Medical Records: Assist in the maintenance and organization of patient medical records.
Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information.

Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and data entry.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized front desk area.

Problem Resolution: Address patient concerns and complaints professionally and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a front desk receptionist in a medical or orthopedic practice is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
