
Summary of Job:
- Check in patients, check out patients, answer incoming phone calls and schedule patient appointments.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients or visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Collect and record patient and insurance information accurately and discreetly
- Collect copays and outstanding items
- Monitor patients in the waiting room and answer patient questions
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider or nurse of patient’s arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays
- Check patients out making appointments and receiving payments as needed
- Comply with all governmental rules and regulations
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
Skills:
- Knowledge of AllScripts is a plus
- 2+ years experience as a medical receptionist is a plus
