Front Desk Receptionist

Summary of Job:

  • Check in patients, check out patients, answer incoming phone calls and schedule patient appointments.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients or visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Collect and record patient and insurance information accurately and discreetly
  • Collect copays and outstanding items
  • Monitor patients in the waiting room and answer patient questions
  • Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider or nurse of patient’s arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays
  • Check patients out making appointments and receiving payments as needed
  • Comply with all governmental rules and regulations
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality

Skills:

  • Knowledge of AllScripts is a plus
  • 2+ years experience as a medical receptionist is a plus
