Front Desk Receptionist for Podiatry Office

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy podiatry practice. This vital role involves providing exceptional patient service, managing appointment scheduling, and ensuring smooth office operations. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and efficient check-in process
  • Manage patient appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, coordinating schedules for optimal flow
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes
  • Collect and process payments, including medical billing and collections, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
  • Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages
  • Maintain accurate medical records, update patient information, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating care plans in the EMR system

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a medical office or clinical environment, preferably in podiatry or dental clinics
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding (International Classification of Diseases), and Medicare procedures
  • Experience with medical billing, insurance verification, and collection processes
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with health information management software is a plus
  • Proven ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
