About the role

As our Insurance Billing & Front Desk Representative, you’ll split your time between insurance/billing tasks and front desk responsibilities. You’ll verify insurance, help get claims paid, communicate clearly with parents about finances, and support scheduling and check‑in/check‑out to keep each day flowing.

What you’ll do

• Insurance & billing
• Verify eligibility and detailed dental benefits before visits (annual max, frequencies, waiting periods, exclusions, downgrades).
• Enter and update insurance plans and fee schedules in our software.
• Submit clean claims with correct attachments and narratives, post EOBs/ERAs, and help work aging/AR to resolve unpaid or denied claims.
• Front desk & scheduling
• Greet and check in patients, update information, and collect copays and balances.​
• Help confirm appointments, reduce no‑shows, and protect high‑value time slots in the schedule.​
• Support check‑out: review treatment, schedule next visits, and explain financial expectations.
• Patient communication & teamwork
• Explain benefits and out‑of‑pocket costs to parents in clear, simple language.
• Partner with assistants, doctors, and the rest of the front office to keep the day on time and stress‑free for families.​

What we’re looking for

• Experience
• 1–2+ years of dental or medical billing and front office experience (dental strongly preferred).
• Experience with insurance verification, claims, and EOB posting is strongly preferred.
• Skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and data entry.​
• Confident, kind communicator with patients, especially worried or confused parents.
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable in a busy pediatric/ortho environment.
• Language & tech
• Spanish speaking strongly preferred.​
• Comfortable with dental practice management software and insurance/clearinghouse portals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

• Dental receptionist: 2 years (Required)
