Job Scope:
Candidates should have a UAE experience in VAT compliance, import/export accounting, and customs clearing documentation. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to a logistics, trading, or import/export environment and be capable of independently handling day-to-day accounting operations while coordinating closely with operations, logistics, and external parties.
Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations:
-
Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with UAE accounting standards

Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, accruals, and provisions

Maintain and regularly reconcile bank accounts, supplier balances, customer accounts, and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Support preparation of monthly management reports and schedules
VAT & Tax Compliance:

Handle UAE VAT accounting for domestic and export transactions

Prepare VAT workings, reconciliations, and support VAT return filing
-
Ensure correct VAT treatment for imports, exports, zero-rated and exempt supplies

Maintain VAT documentation in line with FTA requirements
Import / Export & Customs Accounting:

Review and record customs declarations, BOE, COO, commercial invoices, and packing lists

Ensure proper accounting treatment of customs duty, import VAT, freight, insurance, and clearing charges
-
Coordinate with clearing agents and logistics teams to verify documentation and cost allocations

Reconcile shipment-related costs against supplier and freight invoices
Payables, Receivables & Controls:

Process supplier invoices and initiate payments in accordance with approved terms and procedures.

Issue customer invoices and follow up on receivables when required

Ensure proper filing and documentation for audits and internal controls

Assist in external audits and respond to auditor queries
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2–4 years of relevant accounting experience

Practical experience in VAT accounting and compliance in the UAE
-
Strong exposure to import/export transactions and customs documentation

Previous experience in a logistics, trading, shipping, or distribution company is highly preferred

Knowledge of UAE VAT Law and customs procedures is an advantage

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good understanding of shipment cost allocation and landed cost concepts

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Ability to coordinate with operations, logistics, and external parties

Good communication and time-management skills
-
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
