Job Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal vouchers, and supporting documents.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations.
  • Monitor and record fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Process payroll accounting entries and reconcile employee-related accounts.
  • Assist in VAT filing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide required documentation.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounting records.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in general accounting or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems).
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in manufacturing, trading, or service industry.
  • Knowledge of UAE VAT and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
