General Manager

Job Title: General Manager (GM)

Department: Operations Department

Location: GCC Head Office, Business Bay, Sector F, DHA Phase-1, Islamabad 44000, Pakistan.

Reports to: CEO

1. Job Purpose / Role Summary

The General Manager oversees daily operations, ensures cross-departmental coordination, and translates the CEO’s strategy into actionable plans. The role ensures operational excellence, compliance, team efficiency, and achievement of business targets. The GM provides strong leadership across departments including technical, administrative, HR, finance, procurement, and client relations.

2. Major Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee daily operations across all departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Implement strategies, SOPs, and operational plans to support business objectives.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and identify areas for improvement.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Support budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor costs, operational expenditures, and ensure optimal resource use.

People & Department Leadership

  • Lead departmental heads; ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Monitor team performance, ensure accountability, and support training needs.
  • Promote communication, staff morale, and a performance-driven environment.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure regulatory, healthcare, safety, and quality standards are upheld.
  • Facilitate internal/external audits and ensure closure of observations.
  • Maintain SOP compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Department Coordination

  • Coordinate with HR, finance, technical, operations, procurement, and admin to ensure timely project execution.
  • Resolve inter-departmental issues and remove operational barriers.

4. Qualification, Technical Competency & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution.
  • Master’s degree (preferred) in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, Quality Management, or Business Administration (MBA – Healthcare/Operations) for managerial or senior roles.
  • 10+ Years of Experience in Invitro Diagnostic Equipment, Tender Management, Regulatory Compliance, Import and Export of Equipment and supplies.
  • Medical Device Regulations / DRAP Medical Device Rules
  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
  • Good Distribution Practices (GDP) for medical/diagnostic devices
  • Internal Auditor (ISO 9001) or Quality Assurance certifications
  • Technical competency in IVD equipment, diagnostic workflows, laboratory operations, equipment handling, calibration, storage, and distribution requirements.
  • DRAP registration, import licensing, and post-market surveillance
  • Healthcare compliance and documentation control
  • Vigilance, complaint handling, and recall procedures
  • Operations management and performance monitoring
  • Team supervision, coaching, and workforce development
  • Financial awareness including budgeting, cost control, and resource planning
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, supported by formal training or demonstrated professional experience.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills, particularly within healthcare, laboratory, and hospital environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs100,000.00 - Rs200,000.00 per month
