Role Purpose:
The Area Sales Manager – Retail is responsible for managing 10–12 retail outlets, driving sales performance, ensuring operational excellence, and achieving defined KPIs. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on execution, and the ability to align store operations with company sales targets and brand standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Revenue Management
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets across 10–12 assigned retail outlets.
- Drive product-wise, outlet-wise, and team-wise sales performance.
- Implement upselling, cross-selling, and promotional strategies to maximize revenue.
- Monitor daily sales reports and take corrective actions where targets are not being met.
Retail Operations Management
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of all assigned outlets.
- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across stores.
- Ensure store readiness, cleanliness, visual merchandising, and brand compliance.
- Coordinate with warehouse and supply chain to ensure optimal stock availability.
Team Management & Performance
- Lead, coach, and motivate Store Managers and Sales Staff.
- Conduct regular store visits, audits, and performance reviews.
- Identify training needs and arrange product and sales training sessions.
- Enforce discipline, attendance, and performance standards.
KPI Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report KPIs including:
- Sales targets vs achievement
- Average bill value (ABV)
- Conversion rate
- Footfall to sales ratio
- Stock availability & shrinkage
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
- Analyze trends and recommend improvement strategies.
Customer Experience & Compliance
- Ensure high standards of customer service and experience across all outlets.
- Resolve escalated customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and safety standards.
Coordination & Expansion Support
- Coordinate with Marketing for in-store promotions and campaigns.
- Work closely with Finance for sales reconciliation and cash controls.
- Support new store openings, relocations, or refurbishments when required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- 8-10 years of retail sales experience, with 5+ years in an area or regional role.
- Proven experience managing 10–12 retail outlets simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of retail KPIs, sales funnels, and operations.
- Experience in FMCG, lifestyle, or nutrition/supplements industry is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs170,000.00 per month
