General Manager (Operations & Business Performance)

Role Overview

Work Generations is seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead end-to-end business operations, ensure cross-department alignment, and drive overall company performance.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage teams across Business Development, Operations, HR, Accounts and Technical departments, while implementing systems, KPIs, and processes to scale the organization efficiently.

Core Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily business operations and ensure smooth workflow across all departments
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify inefficiencies and optimize processes for better productivity

2. Team Leadership & Performance

  • Manage department heads and team leads
  • Set KPIs, targets, and performance benchmarks
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and reporting
  • Build a culture of accountability and high performance

3. Business Coordination

  • Ensure alignment between Sales, Upwork Bidding Team, Marketing, and Technical Teams
  • Monitor project flow from client acquisition to delivery
  • Resolve internal bottlenecks and operational challenges

4. Strategy & Growth Support

  • Assist leadership in executing business growth strategies
  • Track revenue performance, team output, and operational metrics
  • Provide insights for improving profitability and scalability

5. Reporting & Management

  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly performance reports
  • Track KPIs, team productivity, and project success rates
  • Report directly to CEO / Directors

Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in General Manager / Operations Manager role
  • Strong experience managing multi-department teams
  • Proven ability to implement systems, KPIs, and workflows
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong command of English communication (written & verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in IT services / Digital Agency / Software House
  • Familiarity with platforms like Upwork, CRM tools, project management tools
  • MBA or relevant business/management qualification
