General Manager – Food Ingredients

Our client is looking for a well experienced General Manager who will lead the full commercial, operational, and strategic performance of the company’s food ingredients and dairy division.


The role requires deep knowledge of B2B food ingredients, dairy processing, supply chains, and the ME market landscape. The GM drives growth, ensures operational excellence, builds strong customer and supplier relationships, and maintains full P&L responsibility.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop market strategies to expand the company’s footprint in food ingredients and dairy sectors.

• Identify growth opportunities across industrial, HORECA, and distribution channels.

• Lead annual business planning including budgets, forecasts, and long‑term investment plans.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.

Commercial & Sales Management

• New business development

• Drive revenue growth through strong sales leadership and customer acquisition.

• Manage key accounts including dairy processors, bakeries, beverage manufacturers, and distributors.

• Negotiate supplier agreements with global food ingredient producers.

• Ensure pricing strategies align with market dynamics and profitability targets.

Operations & Supply Chain

• Establishing company operations and distribution infrastructure

• Oversee supply chain performance including importation, warehousing, and distribution.

• Ensure product quality compliance with Iraqi food safety regulations.

• Optimize inventory management to balance availability and working capital.

• Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery.

Financial & P&L Management

• Revenue growth, gross profit strategy, and full P&L ownership

• Own full P&L responsibility for the business unit.

• Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions when needed.

• Control operational costs and ensure efficient resource allocation.

• Prepare financial reports for regional and global leadership.

People Leadership

• Team build-out across the country

• Build and lead high‑performing teams across sales, operations, and support functions.



Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, or Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in food ingredients, dairy, or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics including importation and distribution.
  • Proven track record in P&L leadership and business growth.
  • Experience managing cross‑functional teams in challenging environments.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
