Job Overview
Hello Shawarma is seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Manager to lead daily operations at our high-volume Mediterranean quick-service restaurant. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of store performance—including staff leadership, food quality oversight, customer service, cost control, and operational efficiency. The GM will ensure that Hello Shawarma maintains its reputation for fresh, high-quality shawarma and exceptional guest experiences across dine-in, take-out, and third-party delivery platforms.
This role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational and communication skills, and a deep understanding of fast-casual/QSR restaurant management. The General Manager will drive operational excellence, uphold brand standards, and foster a positive, team-oriented culture.
ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations including food preparation, service standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
- Ensure all kitchen processes—including shawarma carving, rotisserie management, grilling, assembling, and prepping—meet Hello Shawarma guidelines.
- Monitor shift execution and staffing levels to maintain efficient operations during peak hours.
- Manage opening and closing procedures to maintain consistency and operational readiness.
Team Management
- Lead hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations of all staff.
- Maintain a positive work culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and hospitality.
- Ensure proper station coverage (Assembly, Ticket/Bread, Grill, Fryer, Runner, Expo, Cashier, Prep, Rotisserie) during all shifts.
- Implement training programs that improve product knowledge, service efficiency, and food safety compliance.
Food Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with local and state health department regulations.
- Maintain strict adherence to Hello Shawarma food handling and sanitation standards.
- Conduct regular line checks to ensure consistent portioning, ingredient quality, temperature control, and prep accuracy.
- Oversee cleanliness of food prep areas, equipment, dining room, and storage areas.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and weekly/monthly financial reporting.
- Manage labor costs, food costs, inventory levels, and vendor relationships.
- Conduct weekly inventory audits and maintain accurate ordering to reduce waste.
- Ensure proper cash handling, deposits, and reconciliation procedures.
- Utilize Toast POS (or applicable system) for operational reporting, sales review, menu management, and troubleshooting.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Ensure exceptional service for dine-in, take-out, and drive-through/rapid pickup (if applicable).
- Manage guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction and reviews.
- Maintain a hospitality-focused environment that encourages friendliness, speed, and accuracy.
Delivery & Digital Operations
- Oversee performance on Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, and other delivery platforms.
- Optimize menu presentation, prep efficiency, and packaging quality for off-premise orders.
- Monitor tablet systems, order flow, and delivery timing.
- Coordinate with third-party reps to resolve menu, tablet, or payout issues.
Brand Standards & Growth
- Maintain consistency in product quality, brand presentation, uniforms, and store appearance.
- Identify operational improvements and propose initiatives that enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Support execution of marketing promotions, product launches, and community engagement efforts.
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in fast-casual, QSR, or high-volume quick-service restaurant management.
- Strong background in food operations, including prep oversight, food safety, and back-of-house leadership.
- Prior experience managing teams of 15–30+ employees in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems (preferably Toast POS); strong cash-handling and reconciliation skills required.
- Experience with inventory management, ordering, cost control, and vendor relations.
- Strong leadership abilities with proven skill in training, coaching, and developing staff.
- Experience coordinating with third-party delivery platforms is highly preferred.
- Prior restaurant management roles such as Assistant Manager, Shift Lead, or General Manager strongly preferred.
