General Manager - Restaurant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic General Manager to lead our bustling restaurant operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant management, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and team engagement. Responsibilities

  • Lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction
  • Supervise and train staff across all departments, including front-of-house and kitchen teams, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
  • Manage inventory control processes to minimize waste and optimize stock levels using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
  • Oversee food preparation, handling, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and food safety standards
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling procedures and reconciliation at shift end
  • Implement staff training programs focused on food service management, customer service skills, and safety protocols
  • Monitor financial performance by managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability through effective resource allocation
  • Conduct hiring interviews and participate in staff development initiatives to build a skilled and motivated team
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant environment in accordance with hospitality standards
  • Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations and industry best practices in food handling and kitchen management

Experience

  • Proven management experience within full service restaurants or casual dining environments with a strong focus on team supervision and operational oversight
  • Extensive background in food industry operations including food preparation, cooking, food production, catering, or banquet services
  • Familiarity with TOAST for order processing, sales tracking, and menu management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis effectively
  • Experience in hospitality management with a focus on customer service excellence in both casual dining and fine dining settings
  • Supervising experience with staff training & development programs to enhance team performance
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and proper food handling procedures
  • Prior experience in restaurant management roles such as assistant manager or general manager preferred; hotel or bar experience is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment
