DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic
  • Development of the Division's / Business Unit's strategy to achieve long-term goals / objectives.
  • Executing the Division's / Business Unit's strategy by developing action plans to effectively execute / implement.
  • Plan and review working practices / operations to ascertain if it is successful and if not, devise alternatives.
  • Implement procedures and processes to maximize operating efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure the development of a complementary and strong executive / management team, that can independently. operate the business with less reliance on senior executive management.
  • Develop, implement and maintain business contingency plans.
Financial
  • Create / draw up and manage the Division's / Business Unit's budget.
  • Implement cost control measures and drive the profitability of the Division / Business Unit.
  • Efficiently manage the cash flow of the Division / Business Unit (cash generation).
  • Grow profitability of the Division / Business Unit and exceed budgeted profits and prior year profits.
  • Management of the debtors' days and credit control.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and determine areas of improvement / change required.
Human Resources
  • Objectively measure and manage the performance of staff within the Division / Business Unit.
  • Identify, attract and retain talented staff and staff in key / critical positions.
  • Ensure that succession plans are in place for critical and scarce skills positions within the Division / Business Unit.
  • Identify areas of development of staff and ensure that training and development plans are implemented that will benefit the Business and upskill staff.
Other
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory bodies, legislative requirements as well as good business practices.
  • Implement and manage efficient and ethical internal financial and business controls and governance.
  • Ensure that a Delegation of Authority Framework is in place for your Division / Business Unit and that approvals. outside your scope of authority are in line the Group's Delegation of Authority.
  • Triple C - collaboration and cross selling (across the Group).
