Position Summary

We are seeking a collaborative and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Burlington, VT. In this role, you will support a variety of project tasks, both in the office and in the field. What You Will Do

• Coordinate with project team members, subconsultants/subcontractors, and clients.
• Observe and document complex foundation and slope repair construction activities.
• Collect, interpret, and analyze field and soil laboratory data.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, design plans, cost estimates, specifications, and other deliverables.
• Assist with project management tasks, including developing proposals, budgets and attending meetings.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous field subsurface evaluation field experience (i.e., soil boring and test pit observations) is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills combined with flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and technical understanding is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering (geotechnical focus preferred).
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Successfully passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or able to take exam within 1 year of hire.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Requires sitting, walking and, at times, bending and prolonged standing.
• Must be able to visit project sites and climb ladders and stairs as required.
• The work requires both indoor and outdoor activity in temperatures ranging from moderate to extreme cold or hot and other weather conditions.
• Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment as required.
• Substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers is required.
• Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Format and Schedule

• Standard Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexible daily hours as project work schedule permits. Some night and weekend work may be required.
• Work Format: Hybrid arrangement may be available.
• Office Location: Burlington, VT.
• Travel Requirement: Local travel within the New England area (including extended stays).

Salary Information

• The expected base salary range for this position is $63,000 to $70,000 per year.
• Specific compensation for the successful candidate will be based on factors such as experience, education, training, qualifications, and work location.
• Supplemental Pay: Annual bonus is based on individual and company performance.
