GHG/Climate Analyst

What we are looking for:
The GHG and Climate Analyst will be expected to provide climate and GHG assessment, accounting and measurement support for projects being conducted for private and public clients. As new work develops, you will be required to maintain contact with the Project Manager/delegated Project Lead for assignments and manage the work being conducted in accordance with the project schedule and at a level of quality consistent with the SCS Quality Management System and standard industry practices. The individual will conduct assignments in an office setting and in the field with ocassional travel.
How you can make an impact:
  • Collect and compile data duringprojects, which could include, climate characteristics, fuel/energy usage, industrial gas/refrigerants use, fugitive GHG emissions from wastewater/other processes, or summaries of observations through written logs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare climate risk and GHG assessment, accounting and measurement reports, including tabulated data, charts, graphs, sketches and/or figures.
  • Complete quality control reviews on all work product (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients as directed.
  • Complete scientific and engineering calculations, including the use of applicable modeling programs as needed.
  • Coordinate and review draft calculations, slide presentations, reports and other work products.
  • Prepare reports such as: climate risk assessment, corporate and organization GHG emissions, , and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation as requested.
  • Prepare calculations for reports , including applicable modeling and use of calculation software tools, as requested.
  • Participate in health and safety training as required.
  • Review technical documents to ensure completeness and conformance to requirements.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff in the completion of work, reports, calculations, plans
  • Serve as a resource for junior staff and assist staff to troubleshoot field work issues.
  • Travel as required, estimated 10-20%.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in related engineering or science.
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience required.
  • Experience with corporate GHG inventory projects and calculation of Scopes 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions is required.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate GHG accounting/climate risk standards (GHG Protocol, PCAF/TCFD, IFRS), verification standards (ISSA 5000 and ISO 14065) and compliance requirements for climate disclosures under California SB 253/261/219 and AB 1305 preferred.
  • Knowledge of the international carbon and climate reporting requirements: UK’s SECR; EU’s CSRD and CBAM; Australia’s NGER, and Mexico’s Normas de Información de Sostenibilidad and Canada’s CSDS 1 and CSDS preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing.

Pay Range: USD $78,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
