GIS Software Developer (United States Geological Survey)

Showcase your programming prowess in an interactive, meticulous, crucial role integrating databases and developing code for The National Map by enhancing our country's map data efficiently and accurately for inquiring researchers, consequential policymaking, and an informed public.

As a GIS Software Developer, you will be joining XTS's highly capable and collaborative Innovation Support team supporting the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and their Map Ready Software development efforts. In this role, you will be demonstrating your strong knowledge of programming languages being used in tandem with GIS software suites, your adaptable and detail-oriented nature approach to continuous development and maintenance of code, and rise to the occasion among a collaborative work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, the candidate must:

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Be proficient utilizing ArcGIS Pro
  • This includes working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro Geoprocessing Tools
• Be proficient in Python programming language
  • This includes proficiency utilizing ArcPy
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS API for Python and Python customization with ArcGIS is also a requirement

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Computing
• Knowledge of GitHub/GitLab for code repository
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts are also highly desired
• Is independently driven and exceedingly motivated toward mission completion
  • Showcasing leadership capabilities and collaboration is desired
