Job Description
As bp transitions to an integrated energy company, we must adapt to a changing world and maintain driven performance. bp’s customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India. This will support the delivery of enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, using technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. Shift Timing: 9 am IST to 6 pm IST (with some flexibility)
Role Overview
This role provides thought leadership and functional expertise in demand planning. It focuses on driving excellence within the S&OP process by standardizing processes, systems, and people capabilities to achieve integrated and consistent consensus demand planning. The role also ensures accountability for forecast accuracy, bias, and product availability to support service and inventory performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
Champion demand planning process excellence by developing and deploying best-in-class practices and policies across performance units, business units, and product families.
Embed global operating standards in demand planning across all locations.
Ensure adoption of standardized functionality within our global end-to-end planning tool (Kinaxis Maestro) to improve forecast accuracy and demand-supply synchronization.
Drive performance across PUs through regular performance improvement reviews, ensuring accountability for demand planning quality and identifying areas for support or intervention.
Lead the global Demand Planning Community of Practice, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and coaching to resolve common challenges.
Partner with S&OP Integration and Supply Planning Excellence Managers to strengthen demand-supply integration and maintain a globally aligned model.
Standardize consensus demand planning KPIs, ensure global compliance, and drive actions to meet business targets.
Address and correct behaviors impacting demand planning and overall supply chain KPIs.
Translate business requirements into standardized processes, templates, data sources, and technology roadmaps.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, finance) to drive consensus demand planning.
Develop and maintain documented ways of working across PUs.
Build functional capability programs to improve demand planning excellence, including coaching and training.
Work with IT&S to develop and deploy integrated demand planning tools and eliminate offline processes.
Develop and implement a roadmap for continuous improvement and outstanding benchmarks while meeting service objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering; professional certifications (APICS CPIM, CSCM or equivalent) required; Master’s preferred.
10–12 years of deep experience in demand planning and S&OP.
Expertise in demand planning systems and ability to coach others.
Proven track record in leading change and transformation in demand planning.
Strong leadership and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage conflict and maximize team performance.
Ability to build and maintain a global network of professionals.
