General Manager – Operations & Maintenance is responsible for strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of all operational and maintenance functions for One Network’s deployed systems. This role ensures 24/7 service delivery, operational excellence, resource optimization, and adherence to standards across technology and infrastructure domains, including ITS, OFC networks, data centers, power, field services, and project support teams.
GM O&M provides leadership, governance, and coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable systems, meet SLAs, and support organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage the end-to-end operations & maintenance function for all deployed solutions (smart tolling, ITS, OFC & connectivity networks, server operations, power infrastructure).
- Develop and implement O&M strategies, policies, KPIs, and SOPs aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure operational resilience and availability of systems through robust planning and execution.
2. Governance, Standards & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
- Maintain operational governance frameworks, quality metrics, audits, and reporting.
- Ensure consistent update and improvement of SOPs, disaster recovery plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
3. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams including IT Ops, Field Technicians, DM IT Ops, MRTs, and support functions.
- Build high-performance capabilities through training, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
- Design organization structure and role frameworks to optimize resource utilization and performance outcomes.
4. Preventive Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee the development and execution of preventive maintenance schedules for technology systems, infrastructure assets, and field equipment.
- Ensure operational performance reviews, fault trending, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and corrective action plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
5. Field Operations & Stakeholder Coordination
- Provide leadership for 24/7 field operations across toll plazas, communication networks, and critical infrastructure sites.
- Coordinate closely with project management (PMT), technical teams, vendors, and external partners to facilitate seamless operations.
- Lead cross-functional engagement with internal stakeholders to anticipate and resolve operational challenges.
6. Budgeting & Resource Management
- Develop and manage O&M budgets, resource forecasts, and cost control measures.
- Ensure procurement, inventory, and availability of tools, spares, equipment, and PPE as per operational requirements.
- Optimize operational cost while maintaining high service quality and performance.
7. Reporting & Performance Management
- Establish robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms for service levels, performance metrics, KPIs, and SLAs.
- Provide regular operational dashboards and executive reports to senior leadership.
- Drive accountability through structured performance management processes.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, IT/Computer), Telecommunications, or related technical field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in operations, maintenance, or service delivery functions.
- 5+ years in a leadership or senior management role, ideally in IT/Tech/Infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting mission-critical systems, network operations, or large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., transport, smart city, telecom).
