Role Overview
The Google Ads Manager & Optimization Lead will be responsible for the meticulous implementation, daily management, and continuous optimization of Google Ads campaigns. This candidate is an expert in the platform's tools, focusing on the "how" — executing the strategic plan with precision, building assets, and managing the granular details that drive results, with a focus on lead-generation efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, launch, and manage day-to-day operations of campaigns across Search, Display, YouTube, and Performance Max, with a focus on lead-generation objectives.
- Execute the strategic plan set by the Senior Strategist, including detailed keyword expansion, high-converting ad copy creation, and asset preparation tailored to service audiences.
- Perform daily and weekly monitoring of campaign performance, making rapid bid adjustments, budget pivots, and ad scheduling changes to maximize lead quality and volume.
- Conduct systematic A/B tests on ad copy, extensions, landing pages, and audiences, analyzing results for implementation.
- Manage extensive keyword lists, negative keywords, and audience lists with high organization to control costs and relevance in competitive service verticals.
- Implement and ensure quality assurance of conversion tracking for leads, calls, and form submissions.
- Prepare granular performance reports and highlight tactical optimization opportunities for review.
- Stay updated on Google Ads platform updates and new executional features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven, hands-on experience actively managing and optimizing Google Ads campaigns, with a focus on lead generation.
- A proven track record is mandatory. You must demonstrate hands-on management of accounts that have consistently met or exceeded lead volume and quality targets.
- Preference will be given to candidates with significant experience managing campaigns for service-based businesses, understanding their unique keyword landscapes and conversion dynamics.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Ads Editor for bulk changes and efficient large-account management.
- Excellent skills in service-oriented ad copywriting, competitor analysis, and RSA (Responsive Search Ad) creation.
- Solid, practical understanding of Google Analytics (GA4) for performance reporting and insight generation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
- A proactive, test-and-learn mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Agency experience managing 5-7 concurrent accounts is required.
Nice to Have
- Google Ads Certification(s).
- Experience with Microsoft Ads, particularly for service industry keywords.
- Basic design skills for simple display ad concepts (Canva, etc.).
