About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Grant & Innovation Manager to lead government funding pursuits, manage complex proposals, and drive partnerships that accelerate innovation.
This role is critical in securing federal, state, and private grant funding and helping translate research ideas into funded projects and real-world impact. The role will be focused on healthcare innovation, artificial intelligence, IoT, and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Strategy & Execution
- Identify, track, and evaluate relevant grant opportunities from government agencies, private grant funding companies and innovation funds.
- Lead end-to-end grant proposal development, including:
- Writing technical sections in collaboration with scientists and engineers
- Building project narratives, budgets, and timelines
- Ensuring compliance with all agency requirements
- Maintain a high-quality database of upcoming solicitations, deadlines, and submissions.
Innovation & Research Enablement
- Work with R&D leadership to shape research projects aligned with funding priorities.
- Conduct landscape research on emerging technologies, healthcare trends, and funding patterns.
- Assist in defining research roadmaps and project concepts.
Collaboration & Partnerships
- Coordinate with universities, hospitals, government partners, and private industry collaborators.
- Support multi-institutional proposals and consortium-building.
- Represent the organization in innovation networks, workshops, and meetings.
Project & Compliance Management
- Track grant deliverables, milestones, and budgets.
- Prepare progress reports for funding agencies.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Public Health, Engineering, Biomedical Science, Data Science, Business, or related).
- 3+ years of experience in grant writing, R&D funding, government proposals, or innovation management.
- Strong understanding of at least one of the following areas:
- Healthcare or biomedical research
- AI/ML
- IoT/embedded systems
- Emerging tech or scientific R&D
- Proven success writing or managing government grants.
- Exceptional writing, organization, and project management skills.
Preferred
- Experience working with regulated domains
- Familiarity with research commercialization and tech transfer.
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary scientific teams.
Prior work in a startup, research lab, or innovation center.
