Graphic Designer - Prepress / Print Production

Graphic Designer Prepress / Print Production position plays a vital role in preparing print-ready files and ensuring the smooth flow of jobs through the production process. Working independently, this position follows established procedures and collaborates with multiple departments to keep projects on time and production-ready.

**Rate of Pay is $20-$25 Hourly Depending on Experience; Unqualified Inexperienced Applicants Need Not Apply**

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep jobs flowing through the shop: feed work down to finishing department
• Oversee and reply to emails in a timely manner
• Assist customers coming through the front door
• Answer multi-line phones
• Receive cash/check/card payments on point of sale
• Work closely with customers through design & proofing process through email, phone and in person
• Prepare files for final print for digital press, offset press and wide format graphics
• Work with Variable Data Printing (Data Merge)
• Write up job tickets
• Quality control proofs and final print during and after the job is complete
• Make service calls when machine(s) go down
• Maintain a high level of fast, accurate and quality-assured work
• We're a small shop! Seek out a supervisor when work has been completed to help with other shop needs
• Perform duties with minimal supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

• One (1) to two (2) years print / prepress experience or training
• Adobe Creative Suite proficiency REQUIRED (InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop)
• Experience with file preparation and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office desired (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Previous work experience in graphic design or print desired
• Deadline and detail-oriented

This position is predominantly held in a clerical environment but will also need to work on the production floor.
